Genius creates, and taste preserves. Taste is the good sense of genius; without taste, genius is only sublime folly - Alexander Pope
Why brew beer?
Ever since the oldest known collection of laws, when the Babylonians decreed that all citizens were entitled to a daily beer ration, ale has been a cornerstone of civilisation. A thoughtfully brewed beer is a valuable foodstuff, sustaining man and cheering his spirits.
Kingstone Brewery today
We purchased Kingstone Brewery in 2007, because we wanted to produce traditional artisan beer in all its goodness and simplicity.
The brewery was relocated to Meadow Farm in the picturesque Wye Valley. It now consists of the main brewing room, a grain store, the conditioning room, shop and restaurant. The finished product is stored in a separate climate-controlled room, which essential for the safe keeping of the beer. You can purchase our ales direct from the brewery in half litre bottles upto nine gallon casks! Lunches and brewery tours are also available.
Under the careful stewardship of Ed Biggs as Chief Brewer, the volume of beer produced has grown substantially to keep up with demand. We are delighted to be supplying an increasing number of pubs, delicatessens, off licences and guest houses both locally and further afield.
Kingstone is more than a brewery, it is a vehicle for imagination and innovation, the grounding of which is application, diligence and discrimination.
